Not Gone

It’s been a little over a month since I’ve posted to my poor, neglected blog.  I’m really torn on what to do with it at the moment.  It’s a health and fitness blog that was created to help me get and stay on track with all things “Fitty”.  In no way do I mean this to sound full of myself or high and mighty, but I feel like I’ve figured it out.  What works for me.  What actually, truly works for my body and my mechanics and my physiology.  What to eat (what not to eat), how much, what exercise works, how much and what the results will be.  I realize that I am very fortunate that I’m in a position that I don’t have to think tooooo much about day-to-day decisions.  Not to say that every day is a cake-walk (a grain free cake, of course!), I probably eat too much ice cream, more than likely I drink more alcohol than I “should” and I definitely could use a trip to the weight room at the gym with some consistency.  But that’s just regular, every day stuff.  I have some goals for myself and my body, mostly long term ones which will require me to hammer out some short term ones in order to get there.  But I feel like the more I just “do” and the less I waffle and moan and debate and write about it, the better off I am, the more real-life it becomes.

So what do I do with this blog then?  I love blogging, writing is a huge part of my heart and soul.  But posting pictures of my dog every second day and telling you what I ate or what housework I did seems boooooring.  I know that I personally love getting glimpses into people’s lives, I love reading daily blogs that aren’t really about anything and I really love seeing pictures from people’s lives, especially people I know, but also people that I feel like I know.

I think, in January, when I decided to go grain-free and work my way through all that came with that decision, that my blog may have developed a very narrow focus, one that I can no longer write exclusively about.  I reminded myself what Fitty vs Fatty was always meant to be about though and that was balancing a healthy, active lifestyle.  My healthy, active lifestyle includes gardening, dog walking, lazing, food (grain free), drinks, weight lifting, motorcycling, camping, boating and lawn mowing.  It also includes working on and in my relationship (which includes occasional screaming into a pillow) and dealing with ailing/aging family members and family members who make you want to poke your eyes out.

I debated for the last month what to do about this blog and I just can’t give it up.  So I’ll see if it can morph into something else.  I hope, if you’re a follower, that you’ll come along for the read!

  1. Now you just have to start viewing ALL of life through your bloggles… not just health and fitness but every day things… also post pictures here for those of us who are not on facebook…

  2. I think people follow you because you are interesting, and you write in a way that makes people care about you. I think be it fitness, or daily struggles, or cute doggies, many will still follow. I know I will.

  3. You are an intelligent woman with lots of blog worthy fodder. I am always interested in what you have to write, be it fitness related or not. A healthy mind is part of a healthy body.

  4. First, kudos for figuring out what works for ya! That’s one of the hardest steps to being healthy so be proud!! Second, I enjoy your writing and reading about the randoms in another’s life, whatever road the blog takes I look forward to following along 🙂 !
