It’s Sunday morning and I’m sitting in the doctor’s office waiting for my poor honey to be seen. What started as a cough turned into a head cd and has now morphed back into what is probably a chest infection. The coughing he is doing makes my eyes water let alone what it’s doing to him. He hasn’t slept more than 30 minutes straight in three days. I feel so bad for him…..on the other hand the typical self-involved man syndrome is worse than ever. Apparently “please” and “thank you” fall out of his repertoire…..he’s SICK YOU KNOW!!!!
Anyway, in other news. I left work at noon on Friday and went home, immediately geared up and headed for the trail. It was perhaps a bit optimistic to do 5km two days in a row after having not done it for a long time. But I got it done and headed home, changed clothes and went to Costco and Thrifty’s for some healthy dinner fixings.
Salad topped with sun dried tomato turkey, avacado, pine nuts, goat cheese and blueberries. It was huge and delicious!
Since I jogged Friday (and my thighs were subsequently burned up), I skipped spinning and went out to my sister’s bright and early. Out for coffee and them to buy fabric to make some running sleeves. They sell them for over $45 at running stores but I figured my talented sister could make them cheaper than that! My only regret is that I bought a flesh toned material, something like bright orange or green would have been cool. She made them out of ribbing to my arm measurements. I haven’t tried them yet….probably Tuesday after work.
Today after we get out of the clinic I will go get groceries and Ray will go nap. Hopefully I can convince him to nap in bed so that I don’t have to sit in the dark and silence all afternoon while he sleeps on the sofa.
Roast for dinner tonight (and lunch all week). Today is Day Eight of grain free and it’s going well. It’s one of those things that I’d always thought would be too hard…..but now that I’m doing it, I’m already almost a third of the way through the initial 30 days. Seems like just doing it one day at a time is easier than contemplating an entire month.
I leave you with a picture of the running sleeves, Friday’s salad and some three ingredient carrot muffins that turned out to look a billion times better than they tasted. Ah well, you have to try new things to find what you like.
I had a big, hearty, delicious salad for dinner on Friday night as well! Mmmm… so good.
Man sickness must be bad, not that you or I would know because there is NO WAY we could ever feel as sick as they do when they are under the weather… *ahem*
